Christina Ricci, stop moralizing
Balbhadra Rana | Apr 25 2008

Christina Ricci should have been a nun! She is in the wrong business. She starts giving us lessons on status of women at the drop of a hat. She has no vices except sweets and Diet Cola. She liked drinking earlier, but gave it up as she says, ’she is too small for it.’ Whatever that means.

She has blamed Lindsay Lohan for demeaning women. Lohan’s only sin? She played a pole-stripper in I Know Who Killed Me, a movie that practically no one saw. Ricci believes Lindsay has glamourised pole dancing. What is wrong with it? Aren’t there male strippers too?

Ricci has done the same thing that she so imperiously pooh-poohs. Only difference was that instead of pole-dancing, she was chained half naked to a radiator in Black Snake Moan. So how does she slip out from this? She lambasts the flick’s producers for marketing it as skin show for college boys! Smart! I do not believe Ms Ricci is so naive that she does not know how Hollywood works. Then why did she do Black Snake Moan?

I do not think Ricci has the credentials to pass remarks on the state of affairs of Hollywood. Her work has, at best, been mediocre. She should be happy with her diet Cola and indulge in her pet hobby- keeping her house tidy (she is a ‘clean freak’) and spare us from her bouts of righteousness.
