Justin Timberlake who entered the restaurant business in 2004 has added another feather to his cap by opening his new restaurant in New York City. A host of celebrities attended the grand opening of the restaurant called Southern Hospitality on Wednesday night.

The barbecue joint specializes in the food relished by Timberlake and his pals Trace Ayala and Eytan Sugarman. The three hosted the event together. The new restaurant specializes in traditional Memphis-style cuisine such as spare ribs, homemade buttermilk biscuits and crab and corn fritters.

Many of the recipes come straight from Timberlake’s grandma’s kitchen. Timberlake said,

We had to negotiate on which ones she was willing to give up.

His grandparents were the proud guests of the inaugural ceremony.

The restaurant has very homely interiors done up with antiques from Memphis flea markets. When asked about his favorite dish on the menu, Timberlake recommended fried green tomatoes and the pulled pork.

To mark the opening of the restaurant were celebrities like Jay-Z, Lance Bass, Seth Green, Jamie-Lynn Sigler and the Rev. Al Sharpton.
