American country singer Toby Keith Covel and his family have been awarded $2.8 million for the loss of his father in a freak accident, happened six years ago. Covel was riding a truck when a bus bumped on it which led to his death. The jury has given the verdict against Rodriguez transporters stating that the cause for the accident was that the bus was not equipped with suitable air brakes. If the air brakes had peen properly working, the accident could have been averted. The verdict came after major evidence revealed that bus driver David Perez was not properly trained to drive a bus and didn’t have a commercial bus driver license.
The people benefited from this verdict were Covel’s wife and his three children. Many feel glad about this verdict, which has helped in bringing out how dangerous lackluster maintenance can turn out to be.
